Position Summary:
This role supports the Digital Workplace by building, managing, monitoring, and governing AI-enabled platforms and automation solutions, including Microsoft Power Platform, Copilot Studio, Moveworks or related enterprise platforms.
The Platforms Engineer partners with product owners, governance teams, and business stakeholders to design, deploy, and operate AI agents, workflow automations, and AI-assisted applications that improve productivity, decision-making, and operational efficiency. The role emphasizes resiliency, security, reporting, and responsible AI practices across enterprise digital workplace services.
This position belongs to a family of jobs with increasing responsibility, competency, and skill level. Actual position title and pay grade will be based on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Conducts regular monitoring of infrastructure platforms and systems to identify performance issues or anomalies. Analyzes collected data, establishes performance baselines, and creates reports to identify trends and potential areas of improvement. Collaborates with System and Solution Architects, Senior Platform Engineers, Governance Regulatory and Compliance as well as Product Owners to implement performance tuning strategies and optimize platform & system resources for better efficiency. Monitors digital workplace platforms including Power Platform, Copilot Studio agents, and supporting services to identify performance, reliability, usage, and cost trends. Establishes baselines and reporting to support optimization, scalability, and AI service health.
Documents support requests, resolutions, and troubleshooting steps. Provides technical support to users, troubleshoots and resolves complex hardware and software issues. Applies predefined procedures for platform & systems tuning and optimization using IT Service Management practices. Provides operational support for AI agents, Power Apps, Power Automate flows, and Copilot-based solutions. Troubleshoots automation failures, data connection issues, permission models, and agent behavior using established ITSM practices.
Assists with future infrastructure platforms and resiliency planning. Assists in the design & execution of disaster/system recovery and testing processes and standards.
Develops and implements reporting frameworks to track and analyze platform and system performance and utilization metrics; creates or leverages existing dashboards and visualizations for monitoring. Develops dashboards and reporting frameworks to track AI agent usage, automation outcomes, reliability, and adoption metrics. Supports leadership visibility into value realization, risk, and operational health.
Contributes to the design and configuration of platform & systems, considering scalability, performance, security aspects, and ensures ongoing compliance with original design and configuration. Builds and deploys infrastructure components, ensuring proper configuration and integration.
Actively participates in knowledge sharing activities, such as team meetings, presentations, or workshops. Collaborates with team members to identify gaps in knowledge and propose solutions to improve documentation and information sharing.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, related field or equivalent experience preferred
Two (2) years of relevant experience required.
Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, Copilot Studio) highly preferred.
Experience operating solutions in a governed, enterprise environment (intake, approval, environment strategy, ALM) highly preferred.
Experience integrating Power Platform with Microsoft 365, Azure services, or enterprise data sources highly preferred.
Low-code or no-code enterprise applications (“vibe apps”) preferred.
Hands-on experience building or managing Copilot Studio Agents, AI-assisted workflows or decision support tools and familiarity with responsible AI concepts, data protection, and security controls preferred.
