Description

Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Intern to join our IT Marketing and Sales, Data Driven Customer Insights department located at our Ridgefield, CT facility. As an Intern, you will have a strong interest in UX research and design, with some exposure to front-end development. You will take an active role in your growth as a UX professional by working across the research, design, and implementation phases of projects, gaining hands-on experience while collaborating closely with designers, researchers, and engineers.

Duties & Responsibilities

Support UX research activities by assisting with planning, conducting, and synthesizing user research (e.g., interviews, surveys, usability testing) to help inform and refine design decisions.

Translate research insights into clear design concepts by contributing to wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs for AI chatbot experiences, dashboards, and other digital interfaces.

Collaborate with designers, researchers, product partners, and engineers to help define user needs, experience goals, and basic design principles for assigned tasks.

Create and iterate on low‑ to mid‑fidelity prototypes and participate in usability testing and feedback sessions to validate and improve designs.

Develop a foundational understanding of UX metrics (such as usability, adoption, efficiency, and satisfaction) and assist in connecting research and design work to measurable outcomes.

Apply UX best practices and design standards in day‑to‑day work, helping improve consistency, usability, and overall user experience quality.

Gain hands‑on experience designing and evaluating AI‑enabled user experiences for Sales consultants working within the Veeva platform, while building core skills across research, design, and measurement.

Requirements

Must be a current undergraduate, graduate or advanced degree student in good academic standing.

Student must be enrolled at an accredited college or university for the duration of the internship/co-op.

Overall cumulative minimum GPA from last completed quarter/semester 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferred.

Major or minor in related field of internship/co-op.

Undergraduate students must have completed at least 12 credit hours at current college or university.

Graduate and advanced degree students must have completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university.

Eligibility Requirements :

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.

Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Desired Skills, Experience and Abilities

Currently pursuing a degree in User Experience Design, Human‑Computer Interaction, Human Factors, or a related field, with a foundational understanding of UX research methods and user‑centered design principles.

Comfortable designing basic user interface screens and workflows, with an interest in AI‑driven experiences such as chatbots, dashboards, and data‑informed interfaces; familiarity with design and research tools such as Figma, Dovetail, Lovable, Klaxoon, or similar tools is a plus.

Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a cross‑functional team; curiosity about AI design tools, conversational UX, and light front‑end or vibe coding is encouraged.
