The UpToDate Expert AI team is a cross-functional group of designers, researchers, engineers, and clinicians working at the forefront of healthcare innovation. We’re building our flagship application, UpToDate Expert AI, to redefine how clinical knowledge is accessed and applied at the point of care. Your Portfolio
Your portfolio should demonstrate a track record of developing useful and intuitive interfaces
You should be prepared to speak about the processes used to develop your solutions and the specific role that you played in these processes
Required Job Qualifications
10 years of experience working as a Lead UX designer – ideally within an agile environment
Hands-on experience building mobile web and native apps
Familiar with principles of Lean Product and Lean UX
Ability to build trusted relationships and act as a liaison among the UX, product, clinical, and technology teams to ensure standards of excellence are met
Ability to work with limited guidance and make decisions independently is a must
Bachelor’s degree (BA) from a four-year college or university (or equivalent) in Interaction Design, Product Design, Industrial Design, Human Computer Interaction, Communication & Multimedia Design/Media Technology, Information Architecture or related field
Technical Skills
Experience vibe coding prototypes for quick proof of concepts
Experience working with design systems and familiar with creating UX patterns
Experience adhering to WCAG compliance and standards
Mastered design software such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
Knowledge of agile software development processes and experience with requirements management and complex projects
Solid understanding of HTML5 and CSS3
Preferred Job Qualifications
Strong understanding of the healthcare ecosystem, particularly in payer and provider sectors and experience offerings preferred
Agency experience is highly preferred
Have a deep understanding of typography, color, layout and motion design principles
Passionate about design, emerging technologies and problem solving
Both a self-starter and team-oriented, with a willingness to teach and learn; open to feedback and welcomes constructive criticism
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
Experience working in distributed, collaborative teams
