Original Job Description
TMGM (TradeMax Global Markets) is a Sydney-headquartered, ASIC-regulated multi-asset FinTech broker and one of the world’s leading CFD brokers by trading volume. Founded in 2013 and rebranded to TMGM in 2020, the group today serves clients globally with 12,000+ tradable instruments across forex, indices, metals, energies, equities and crypto — delivered on MT4, MT5 and proprietary platforms.
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior BI Analyst who pairs sharp business thinking with deep, hands-on data skills — someone who does not just build dashboards but actively shapes how the company measures success. You will partner with Trading, Sales, Marketing, Product and Risk to turn complex questions into clean metrics, dashboards and decisions.
This is a high-visibility individual-contributor role with a clear progression path. You will work directly with C-level sponsors on the company’s North Star and KPI tree, and there is meaningful room to grow into BI Lead and ultimately Head of BI as the function scales with the business.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with business teams (Sales, Trading, Marketing, Product, Risk) to translate requirements into clean data solutions and decision-ready metrics.
Design, build and maintain Power BI dashboards with rigorous data modelling, performance tuning and version-controlled semantic definitions.
Write complex SQL (joins, window functions, CTEs, performance-aware queries) against large production datasets for extraction, transformation and analysis.
Own business metrics, KPIs and reporting frameworks — from North Star definition to field-level metric dictionaries with clear ownership and versioning.
Conduct deep-dive analysis on customer behaviour, trading activity, funnel conversion and revenue drivers; turn findings into specific, testable recommendations.
Provide actionable insights that directly improve trading volume, client lifetime value, conversion and retention.
Leverage modern AI tools and “vibe coding” workflows to accelerate analysis, prototype dashboards and automate repetitive BI work.
Communicate findings clearly to senior stakeholders and drive execution — you are expected to close the loop, not just present slides.
5–8 years in data analysis / BI / analytics roles, with at least 2 years in a Senior IC capacity.
Strong SQL — multi-table joins, window functions, CTEs, aggregations, and comfortable with performance tuning on large fact tables.
Hands-on Power BI at a production level — dashboard design, data modelling (star schema), DAX, RLS, and semantic model governance.
Strong business acumen — you connect numbers to real-world outcomes, not just chart them.
Comfortable using AI tools (Claude, Copilot, ChatGPT) and modern data workflows to multiply your own output.
Excellent written and verbal communication; confident stakeholder management from analyst to C-level.
Strong execution and an ownership mindset — you close loops, push decisions through to action, and measure impact.
Nice to Have
Direct exposure to CFD / MT4 / MT5 data models (trades, positions, P&L, spreads, slippage).
CFA / CFA Level-candidate or a finance-related degree.
Experience with dbt, Snowflake, Databricks or similar modern data stacks.
Prior work on semantic layer / metric dictionary projects.
Exposure to AML / compliance reporting, risk management reporting, or broker P&L attribution.
Work on data powering one of the world’s leading CFD trading platforms — with a USD 2.045T monthly average trading volume, a USD 3T record month, and millions of trades processed daily.
Clear progression: Senior BI Analyst → BI Lead → Head of BI. The BI function is scaling — early joiners get the seats closest to the leadership team.
Genuine hybrid model with a structured work-from-home benefit.
Conference, certification and AI-tooling budget — we back people who keep learning.
Power BI + modern data stack + AI-native workflows. No legacy drag.
