Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
• Monitor and optimize melting process to ensure stable glass quality and production output.
• Troubleshoot issues in furnace and glass delivery system process.
• Analyze data for normal operation and engineering decision-making.
• Lead process, performance, and equipment improvement projects.
• Support new technology migration and documentation.
• Work closely with different apartments like Production, Quality, Maintenance and Facility to improve yield, reduce defects, and maintain process stability.
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree or above, major in Material Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or other related engineering.
• Experience like glass manufacturing, furnace, thermal process, or process engineering would be preferred.
• Have process engineering skills with knowledge of data and statistical analysis.
• Familiar with concept and methodology of DOE (design of experiment).
Required Skills
• Logical thinking and problem-solving ability in a dynamic environment.
• Good understanding of manufacturing systems, production flow, and process control in a factory.
• Project management skills.
• Good at using Excel for data analysis and statistics.
• Good at English reading and writing, able to communicate in English for international meeting.
Desired Skills
• Technical report writing and presentation skills.
• Experience in DMAIC or 6-sigma projects.
• Experience in digital transformation projects with Python or vibe-coding skills.
