Original Job Description

Job Description

• Drive firmware feature execution. Track features against milestone commitments and surface slippage early with enough specificity to act upon. Ideally you can also read a test plan critically and tell us where it is thin.
• Manage cross team execution: Sprint planning, task hygiene, cross-team dependency tracking, and status artifact creation.
• Own bug triage and burndown. Run intake, severity and priority calls, routing, and SLA tracking for firmware and software teams, and design the triage process itself as the program moves through hardware milestones. Drive zero-bug-bounce on critical hardware builds: set entry and exit criteria, run the burndown, and give leadership a clear read on whether a build is converging.
• Define the strategy for prototype device management. Build and operate the allocation strategy for a limited prototype fleet: who needs devices, for what, and for how long. Establish timesharing models, forecast study-unit needs, track utilization, and redeploy idle hardware. You will set strategy and work with logistics partners who handle fulfillment.

Skills and Requirements

• 5+ years in technical program management, engineering program management, or a closely related technical role.
• Track record driving execution across multiple engineering teams and holding owners to commitments without formal authority.
• Ability to run program mechanisms independently: handed an ambiguous problem, you come back with a process, set priorities, and clear calls among competing asks.
• Comfort working as an AI-native program manager. You actively use AI tools such as Claude to accelerate your own work, whether that is triaging and summarizing large volumes of bugs, drafting status, analyzing test results, or building lightweight tooling, and you have judgment about where AI output needs verification.
• Program management on firmware or embedded software, such as RTOS, device drivers, sensor stacks, or power management.
• Shipped consumer hardware through build-to-build milestones (EVT/DVT/PVT or equivalent), including hands-on experience driving zero-bug-bounce.
• Able to critically evaluate a test strategy: coverage gaps, automation leverage, and hardware-in-the-loop considerations.
• Experience managing constrained prototype or dev-kit fleets, and fluency with task tracking and dashboarding tools.
• Able to vibe code your own dashboards and reporting: standing up a working view of program data with AI assistance rather than waiting on an engineer.
